When most people think of the perfect time to visit Niagara Falls, the summer months immediately come to mind, but did you know that Niagara Falls is fun to visit year-round? The best time to visit Niagara Falls is whenever it works best for you and your family, and below, we’ll go over some key sights to take in while visiting the falls during every season!
Summer: Prime Time
Summer is definitely a prime time to visit, with June – August considered to be peak months, as all the major attractions are open, and the weather is nice, which allows for plenty of outdoor exploring. During the summer, you can picnic at the Niagara Falls State Park, take a boat tour on the Maid of the Mist Boat Tour, go explore Goat Island, or zipline across the falls from the Canadian side!
Fall: Peep Some Leaves
Fall is an absolutely gorgeous time to visit and catch some gorgeous fall colors with the changing leaves. The best time to visit in the fall is around mid-October. The fall is the perfect season to explore the Cave of the Winds and Old Fort Niagara, which had a role in the French and Indian War, the American Revolution, and the War of 1812, take a cruise on the Erie Canal, and go to Becker Farms, where you can pick your own apples and pumpkins, take a hayride, or catch the Pumpkin Fiesta!
Winter: A Real Wonderland
Colder temps don’t stop the fun from happening in Niagara Falls! In the winter, you can check out the Aquarium of Niagara, go to the Niagara Power Vista or the Castellani Art Museum, try your luck at the Seneca Niagara Casino, or warm up with some wine at the Niagara Wine Trail.
Spring: A Festival of Fun
Spring kicks off the new season of outdoor fun with many festivals. Choose from the Niagara Folks Arts Festival, Niagara Falls Comic Con, or Niagara Falls Elvis Festival for starters, and stay for the amazing Niagara Falls restaurants and scenic tours.
