If you think that Niagara Falls is only for nature lovers and there’s pretty much nothing else you can do besides looking at the majestic waterfalls, well, you might want to rethink that. There’s a plethora of activities for you to choose in Clifton Hill, right next to Niagara Falls, on the Canadian side of the border.
Clifton Hill is one of the main tourist promenades in the city of Niagara Falls, Ontario. It boasted numerous places of interest including wax museums, haunted houses, video arcades, themed attractions as well as hotels, restaurants and gift shops. With such a wide range of activities, it is a very popular destination, especially with teenagers.
The street of Clifton Hill stretches from River Road on the Niagara Parkway just opposite of the American Falls all the way up to the intersection with Victoria Avenue. Simply look for the towering Sheraton Fallsview hotel and you’ll find yourself right at the doorstep of all the fun.
Start your day by taking a ride on the Hornblower. The iconic Niagara Falls cruise will take you on a boat ride to the bottom of the Horseshoe Falls, where you will experience the full might of the world’s largest falls by water flow. The cruise season begins in early May until late fall every year. Make sure you bring an extra pair of clothes because it’s almost guaranteed that you will get wet.
After all of that excitement, you might want to get a quick bite before continuing on with your fun. Being a part of the Hornblower landing complex, Riverside Patio is the perfect place to have a post-ride brunch or even lunch. The restaurant offers a stunning view of the American Falls on the other side of the river.
As soon as you’re fully replenished, we can now proceed to the heart of Clifton Hill. Having been outside for the entire morning, museums make for a perfect chance to get away from the bright sun. Clifton Hill features Ripley’s Believe It or Not! museum, Guinness World Records Museum, and Movieland Wax Museum.
If visiting museums is not your cup of tea, you also have the option to go to the Zombie Attack haunted house. The little ones are not left behind, as they can enjoy a round of golf at the Dinosaur Adventure Golf, or go on a thrilling ride at the elevated go-kart: Niagara Speedway.
To cap the day off, jump on one of the Niagara Skywheel air-conditioned cabins for a stunning bird-eye’s view of the sunset over Niagara Falls. We guarantee that the view from the top will be one of the best sunsets you will ever witness. Once you’re back on the ground, grab dinner in one of the many restaurants or food chains that dotted Clifton Hill, before going back to your accommodation.
Clifton Hill is truly a place for everyone. If you missed it during your last trip to Niagara Falls, make sure to include it on your next visit!
